You're all talking sense. Loads of great points in this thread and others. We all know why United are shit, whose responsible and what needs to happen. But I'm finding it hard to care these days, especially after the ESL bollocks. Don't think I've ever felt so detached from the club, or the Prem. City's domination, Leicester losing out on top 4 to the usual suspects, no fans. Even the coverage on BT & Sky. None of it feels authentic or good. I think they're losing me as a fan. Pretty sure others feel like this too.

Leicester losing out on top four two seasons in a row is a kick in the nuts for their supporters. But what a club. You can be sure they’ll sign a couple of cheap players this summer that within a year will have top clubs hovering. Imagine a club with United’s resources being that well run.

As an organization, United is a joke. Literally a joke.

I know what you mean. I feel the same way about United, although I'm not sure how much of it is down to the shit way the club is run and how much of it is due to me getting older!

Also, the game has changed so much from when I first started watching it. The historic rivalries we have with other sides used to mean something. Now you see the players having a laugh and joke before the match. Where are the characters in the game? Now everyone has a social media account that's controlled by an agent.

Everything's so bland.

Bland is spot on. The stadiums are soulless bowls, the rivalries are contrived, Sky & BT studios shiney and flashy... When Keane talked about the hostility and energy you used to get at Elland Road, it felt like ancient history. It shows you how commercialised and sanitised the game has become in 15/20 years.

The more money involved in football, the more soulless, commercial and meaningless it becomes. When the mega rich and mega powerful get involved in the Prem, namely bin Salman and Bezos, the last remnants of our game will die. It'll be glitzy, clean and perfect. And I can't be fucked with that.
