Will the Glazers sell?
Actually that sums up the state of this club. Factually, it’s simply true that we’re only occasionally in the CL, and we’re just making up the numbers when we are.
For the money spent that’s atrocious. We’re much worse than PSG, which is already a joke of a club.

Interesting development: there are rumours that Qatar are considering selling PSG. Even though the club win loads, the fans hate the owners cos they'd rather feel a part of their club than buy trophies, so they give em constant aggro. They're a bit more organised than us, and more powerful, forcing boycotts of games etc. It's wearing the qataris down as was revealed at the recent owner / fan meet. Also there's a theory they bought PSG to help bolster their world cup bid. The world cup is nearly here so in that sense PSG has served its purpose.

Yeah tbf if we're proper shite the coefficient won't save us. It might set a new lower benchmark for the Glazers to aim for.
But right now we would get in cos we're in and out of the top 4 which boosts our overall score compared to Leicester who are out more than they're in. And much more than the likes of West Ham that have a go. It favours the big clubs that play in Europe more.
Looking at the bigger picture, it's the beginning of not needing to be in the top 4 to get into the most profitable tournament. There's a tiny crack in the door, and they're gonna make it bigger and bigger until they get in.

Now firmly in decline on the commercial side too.
Just sell up and fuck off you lecherous cunts.
This club is dying, make no mistake.

In 2021, Man City’s commercial revenue was £272.9 million, an increase of 8% from the year before, compared to Man Utd who in 2021 had a commercial revenue of £232.2 million a decrease of 18.7% from the previous year, the second largest % fall in revenue out any club in the Deloitte Money League, and the largest in the top 15.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑2 years ago Now firmly in decline on the commercial side too.

It's actually happened. We're done.
A lot of this is Eds doing. The commercial deals he negotiated in the last 5 years got smaller and smaller, meaning our rivals closed the gap and have now overtaken us. The rot started with Jose when the turnover actually stopped growing for the first time. Again, this is Eds fault. Why in this era of high tempo attacking football do you hire a toxic dinosaur that plays dogshit football. People who'd paid for tickets stopped going to games it was so bad. This idea Ed is a commercial genius is bollocks. He performed poorly for most of his time as CEO.

Maybe it needs to happen. If the commercial side declines, maybe that's what it'll take to get shut of the glazers. Then we can rebuild properly.
I thought the same that we've been shite, but somehow we are ranked 9th at the moment, and all those clubs above are ones that pretty much always qualify legitimately, so its exactly what glazers want, almost a guaranteed back door, as if you keep even getting to the groups, the coefficient stays high, and its a cycle, you'll never drop out.Sid wrote: ↑2 years agoYeah tbf if we're proper shite the coefficient won't save us. No need to spend money even trying to get top 4 anymore.

It's mad innit. England benefited from the coefficient system in tournament rankings cos the FA organised loads of friendlies at Wembley - with big nations too. So it kept bumping up our coefficient score up despite us being shite, unable to beat a good team at a tournament, and only making 2 semi finals since 1966. It takes ages for coefficients to reflect the reality of a club / country, that's why basing anything on it is dodgy. But like you say, it's perfect for the Glazers cos now they don't have to meet the top 4 standard to get in.jason_uk wrote: ↑2 years agoI thought the same that we've been shite, but somehow we are ranked 9th at the moment, and all those clubs above are ones that pretty much always qualify legitimately, so its exactly what glazers want, almost a guaranteed back door, as if you keep even getting to the groups, the coefficient stays high, and its a cycle, you'll never drop out.Sid wrote: ↑2 years agoYeah tbf if we're proper shite the coefficient won't save us. Some fans turned up at Carrington today and it sounds like Rangnick approved of their action
