Manchester United’s caution on the pitch reflects the club’s corporate culture

https://www.theguardian.com/football/bl ... d-woodward

And so the same principles that have helped United to thrive in the boardroom continue to throttle them on the pitch. Modern football rewards audacity and risk, ruthlessness and innovation and – yes – scorched-earth spending too. Perhaps the Super League was United’s endgame: its life raft to a stiller and staider world. Its collapse leaves them with a familiar absence of purpose, a familiar void where its heart once beat.

I dunno man, believing that article is then believing that the Glazers actually know what they're doing. Personally, I don't think they've got a fucking clue. Malcolm was the brains of the outfit and I don't think any of his cunting offspring have a clue apart from knowing they need to turn a profit to take a dividend. They were 'lucky' to have had Woodward as the chairman/CEO, a proper money man. We were unlucky that anyone who was responsible for making football decisions didn't have the foggiest.

Keep a weather eye on the share price. Will be a good indicator for a Glazer fire sale.

This is the best take on the ESL you'll read - how working class resistance prevented a full neoliberal takeover of european football

This is the worst thing you'll read

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... tory-donor

Boris Johnson working with a Tory donor (aka corruption) to help complete bin Salman's takeover of Newcastle

And we're relying on these cunts to deliver 50.1% ownership

Also note bin Salman threstening economic and commercial consequences if the Premier League don't hurry up and allow the takeover to go through

Wonder what this was about?

Nasser is PSGs billionaire owner, but also now the chair of the european club association (the thing that Ed resigned from)

Madrid Barcelona and juve are still claiming they are pushing ahead with the ESL.

Let's hope they are flogging a dead horse.

The 2 spanish clubs are really in a desperate way financially, so no surprise they are still trying to get this over the line. Its their golden goose/get out jail free card.

Yeah this could still come back to life. The likes of Real, Barca, and Juve are not likely to just accept being broke. And we know that other clubs, including PL clubs, would still be interested, they’re just not going to be seen to take the lead on it.
