Zidane is leaving Real and Conte is leaving Inter cos they plan to sell €80m worth of players due to financial difficulties. Poch's position is also far from stable. A few top managers are up for grabs.

Yeah I feel like the bad guy kicking a puppy. But though I think Ole should be proud of what he’s done for United as manager, if we’re going to be ruthlessly competitive (which we should be, without being utter cunts), there’s zero evidence after 2.5 seasons that he’s the right person to lead us back to the top.

What we see on the pitch in terms of tactics is bog standard, albeit played by very expensive players, so usually too much for most sides. Ole is the first manager since Ferguson to say he is satisfied with how the club managers transfers. So he takes full responsibility for our transfers, and they’re not very good. Maguire is ok, but far overpriced, and probably too slow for any top side that doesn’t play a suffocating possession game (like City). Most of his signings he simply has no time for: Beek, Telles, etc. James gets the odd look in as a desperation sub, but none of us would be surprised if he was sold this summer.

But nothing will change. Glazers have their top four money for another season, so that’s their interest finished for the time being. Woodward is sitting in his office playing sudoku and wanking to porn until the end of the year. Who else in the club hierarchy even cares enough about the football enough to think about a change?

Clubs like Chelsea consistently bring in hired guns who win titles. But we have to be on the eternal rebuild train. It’s all bullshit. The difference is Abramovich watches football and wants to actually win things, whereas the Glazers couldn’t give a fuck so long as the money keeps coming.

There may well be other managers out there with better tactical nous than Ole, but how much more would they get out of a team that has so many issues and is in dire need of root and branch investment? Then they have to work within a fairly dysfunctional set up.

We're not a serious club on the football side of things.

At best, we might get one shiny object this summer. Most likely an attacker. Even if we get a defender, there's so much work to be done and I can't see it being done. We'll probably sell van de beek, having failed to use him properly. We'll keep hold of players that are injury prone and/or shite. It's the same old story...

Successful managers somehow project their will/desire/personality onto the pitch via their players. This is when good players become great players, good teams become great teams. Ole doesn't seem to have anything about him to project. You could see Emre jumping around, shouting and pointing at his mediocre bunch of players, getting them to to what they're supposed to. Ole? Sat there wondering what the fuck he was supposed to do. Ole has been carried by the likes of Bruno, Cavanni, Shaw et al this season. We haven't finished 2nd due to Ole's managing and coaching, we finished 2nd 'cause our flat track bullies put in a shift most of the time and more accurately, the other top teams didn't perform this season.

We have a good squad & a great youth set up but not the man to lead them onwards. They can't offer Ole an extention to his contract when he can't deliver silverware, especially after the money he has also spent.

We're gonna miss out on Poch for a third time. By the time we get him he'll be finished like Jose.

We need to be ruthless. We should be ruthless. But we won't be ruthless.

We'll never reach the top with Ole. When it matters, he's shown up for the limited coach he is.

I'd agree with some of Merson's comments i.e. Ole not wanting to upset players, making wrong decisions re subs/tactics etc.
