Re: Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III

Oh I don't doubt it, but that is a partial consequence of having so much expectation heaped on him, because once he broke through he was (if I remember rightly) playing pretty much every game he was fit and available for. For all the criticism of Fergie on here, he knew how to bed players in so that...

Re: Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III

All the Kane hype reminds me a lot of when Michael Owen first broke onto the scene at Liverpool. No doubt to me that Owen had a good career, but not a great one. How much better would his career have gone if the entire country hadn't heaped all its expectations on him when he was still a kid? We can...

Re: Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III

I don't see why we need another number 9. If it was me, I'd stick Rooney up there. 4-4-2 is dead, we should be aiming for a fluid front 3 who can interchange positions at will, so Rooney up top, Depay and maybe Januzaj (or Bale if you believe the rumours) coming inside from wide positions, and have ...

Re: Other Teams' Stuff

Fuck me, is it just my bias or did Giggs Scholes Neville retire with dignity, every fuckin media outlet has a Gerrard fuckin pullout or special or video montage. Imagine Scholes holding his own full press conference when he was retiring. It's getting embarrassing, look at Lampard, even he did it as...

Re: Other Teams' Stuff

From the BBC's sportsday live: "The fiasco of the century" - Some more reaction to Real Madrid's defeat to Juventus last night in the Champions League semi-final. Spanish newspaper Marca said Madrid wasted a historic opportunity to play Barcelona in what would have been the "mother of...

Re: Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III

I really hope the Bale and Ronaldo rumours are both bollocks. Great players, but not what we need. Sad thing is, Woodward probably cares more about giving the fans a "marquee signing" so he can like the big I am than worry about silly little things like actually getting the players the clu...

Re: Other Teams' Stuff

I'm genuinely shocked by the result tonight, didn't actually see the game I was (and still am) busy writing an essay, but I was skimming the BBC text updates, and it doesn't seem like the result flattered Juventus. Fair play to them though, first European final for them in an absolute age. I don't t...

That's a big "if". Talented player or not, he is coming across as a bit of a money-grabbing cunt so far.

Re: Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III

I'd love for us to sign someone like Hummels. I've said it on here before, but if we had a solid defence that was so calamitous-looking, I genuinely believe the creative players in the team would feel more free to go out, express themselves and actually play to their potential.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3069881/Sick-John-Terry-fans-troll-Rio-Ferdinand-Twitter-cancer-death-wife-Rebecca.html I know you can't pick your own fans, but there does seem to be a bit of an expectation for this kind of behaviour from the kind of people who would idolise someone like Joh...
