To be fair to Perez, it is a lot of money to pay for a player you can have for free in a year and there's no competition because he's set on coming to your club. Real and United's positions are both understandable; sometimes there's just not a price that makes sense for both sides. It's Mendes who's pissed in the pool by promising the player he could get his move this summer and creating this crisis situation. If De Gea and his agent had been more upfront about things, instead of trying to play a sneaky game, probably everybody could have come away reasonably satisfied.
Did we not pay 23.5 for RvP when he was going into his final year? If that's fair price for him, DDG is easily worth 30 million, given his age, and how long he'll be at the top level.
Fuck Madrid, if they don't want to pay up - I wouldn't sell him for 15-20 million.
