Yeah we seem to be dropping interest in Fernandes in favour of Dybala. But Fernandes was strongly rumoured to be a target, Dybala is just a random opportunity that popped up at the very last minute because his current club doesn't want him anymore. He plainly would rather stay at his current club, compared to Fernandes who's obviously dying to play for a good PL team. If we sign Dybala and Spurs Fernandes, it'll be interesting to see who works out better for their new club.

Fernandes will be really good. He's only had the one good season, and he's a late developer, but the way he bossed the Sporting midfield against Liverpool in the friendly, showed what he is capable of. He is absolutely bang on what he need but the club obviously think otherwise. They're probably looking at Fred and Garner and McT and thinking they're overstocked in midfield.

Dybala in the PL will be a bit of an unknown. He doesn't really want to come to United and is he suited to the physical side of the game? He might turn out to be another Morata, decent on the continent but shite in England. However, considering that he's not wanted by Juve and Lukaku isn't wanted by us (and we are unwanted by Lukaku), it's worth a punt IMO

I agree Dybala is worth a punt in the circumstances -- unless he's coming across as not keen at all, in which case there's no point.

But we shouldn't alter our pre-existing transfer plans because of him. This is precisely the sort of reactive half-arsed transfer strategy the club and ole have been saying for months we were getting away from.

I'll be fucked off if we dont get Fernandes. Right position, right age, right quality, keen to come by all accounts, reasonable price.

He'll go to spurs and be top drawer, as will ndembele.

We're a fucking shambles of a club and we deserve the continued fall from grace we'll see next season

People here really are clutching at straws, no one is coming, thats where United is at with our amazing DOF Ed Woodward.

That's basically true, though I wouldn't rule out a spendy desperation buy right before the window shuts. £100M for Maguire, or Dybala on big wages despite him not at all wanting to come to United.

Maguire done. £85 million.... better than staying in the pockets of the Glazer's.

We need to keep a steady back for week-in-week-out. Pick your best back four!!

Fuuuuuckkk...that's a lot of money on a donkey. But we badly need a defender, one who has PL experience and can, hopefully, slot straight into the back four. Hopefully we will all support the lad and hope the price tag doesn't weigh on his mind. Was hoping we weren't going to spend that much on him but as Bri says above, it's money better spent on a CB than sat with the Glazers.

About 7 of the lads I drink with on a Friday night are Liverpool fans and no doubt they'll take great pleasure in taking the piss out of United tonight.

Maguire ain't a donkey. Hes a good defender and he'll improve us. It's a fuck ton of money but I'm not aresed about that.

If we add Bruno, then it's actually been a good window. Not great, but good.
