From the horses mouth yesterday at shareholders meeting.
“Playing performance doesn’t really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business.”
Just The kind of Thinking you want from your chief exec.
Sad thing is he's prb right.

That’s fucking dreadful to hear.
With the money we have, we need to have an ethos at the club and stick to it. Any managers hired need to be done so with that in mind. At the moment there’s no one guiding the ship just different captains with different ideas. It’s never going to work. Shame Fergie didn’t do the DoF role for a few years to ease the change over.

Klopp and Wenger got their sides playing pretty football but they have one hell of a collection for losers medals.
One quote from a shareholders report don’t mean shit.
Fact is he fucked off Gaal and Moyes. When performances deteriorate and fans don’t like it, even despite a pot, you get jacked.
There is no meaningful opposition to the owner or José and we have shit lots of money to spend, so let’s see.
Results first, performance later. If you can have both like Citeh then you have something special.

He didn't get rid of them because of bad football. He waited to get rid of Moyes until it was mathematically impossible to qualify for CL and with Van Gaal he couldn't even wait 30mins after FA Cup victory to get him sacked.
If Mourinho fails to qualify for CL next season he will be gone. Just like the previous two.
If Mourinho gets top4 but still plays horrible garbage football he won't care.

Looks like Ed is listening: Manchester United step up plans for radical restructuring with Portuguese's future in doubt https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foo ... 74201.html
"The feeling now is that the nature of the 3-2 comeback against Newcastle United has bought the Portuguese time, but executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward had already long become emboldened by plans to introduce a more modern continental model that didn’t place such prominence and importance on a single manager at the top.
"Along those lines, United have been interested in putting in place a full technical staff, as opposed to just a director of football.
"Paratici was a figure they were looking at very early for his successful work in the transfer market, only for Marotta to also become a possibility. The latter has just left Juventus, with a lot of questions about why, especially given he was credited with a huge role in restructuring the Italian champions over the last decade so they are now an example for modern clubs."
