"Wayne Rooney has not hit a shot on target in the Premier League in 2015. His last came away to Tottenham on December 28th."

Think he's trying to find a way to start all his best players - primarily di Maria, van Persie, Rooney and Falcao. We have an unbalanced squad, which makes it more difficult and all those players want to attack though the middle. (With the 3 strikers starting together, it's been rubbish: 3 wins, 4 draws and one loss, all against average/shit teams).

Moyes did the same thing when he was criticised for being boring - a bunch of forwards and no midfield. It will never work.

I really hate van Gaal's approach to problem solving. He sees something he wants to change and he'll find a solution, but it's like he never considers the consequences of the change. Gets rid of one, tiny problem and brings in two bigger problems.

Why the fuck is he trying to change the club instead of taking advantage of being the first manager in about 5 years to have a really decent squad and just play to the teams strengths, get a bit of success and pass the reigns. I respect that he doesn't give a fuck but its a shame he's going to get hit with a p45 rather than a final p60 in three years time, passing the gauntlet on and actually maybe having earned more respect and been giving some more to spend.

If we don't finish top 4, I cant see us going hey big spenders again. Wank.
Simeone does not do attacking football. Good organisation and defense for sure, but no flair.

Who said anything about attacking, I just want not to watch headless chickens every week, AM put four past Real the other night, good organisation and 2-0 against West Ham would have done today.
Well I suppose that's the knighthood fucked.

At the moment we are not in a position to drop points. Southampton,Arsenal,Spurs and Liverpool will all be wanting that 4th place. How is it then that something as obvious as Van Persie and Falcao not working as strike partners was not put right earlier in yesterdays game? I'm quite prepared to back Van Gaal but every game counts and sometimes changes have to be made short term,in defiance of a philosophy. Perhaps he thinks lumping the ball up to Fellanini is sufficient.. Admittedly there was more urgency and speed after he came on,but by that time Uniteds style of play had left West Ham and most of the crowd comatose.Perhaps Van Gaal sees the FA Cup as some sort of salvation.

Doesn't matter if we win the FA, if he doesn't make fourth he's clearly gone. that's what matters for the big sponsors. He's shit a brick about his job and he's trying to bore his way to fourth, relying on his attackers scraping a goal or two and, generally, not conceding many.

It's bollocks. He needs to put Rooney up top, get aggressive and try and smack teams into submission by strangling them out of the game. not this bore fest possession for the sake of possession shite.

We haven't played boring possession based football since the first half of the QPR game. You're just parroting what everybody else is saying without thinking

Since QPR, since the chants of 442, he's bowed to fan pressure and given you what you wanted; the diamond that worked in the second half against QPR, a flat back 4, an attacking mindset, more width, more creative players in midfield (Januzaj, Rooney and Di Maria), pace up front with Di Maria in the hole and Wilson playing more, and even a big man up front to "put himself about" in Fellaini

And it has proved no more useful than the 352 possession based shite

So the fans were wrong and Gaal was wrong to bow to them. Fergie and Giggs will have been the ones who will have convinced him.

So now people are saying "nah, it's not the formaiton, it's not the back 3, it's not the defensive possession based mindset - it's becase he's playing players out of position" which is right, playing players in their best positions is logical. Gaal is overthinking games too much, and understimating the fear factor of a league game. In training they'll pull off their new roles brilliantly, then in matches, it all goes to shit.

But let's not overlook the fact the fans were wrong, and that the fans are steering the ship a little now. We're in a new phase of this and fuck knows where it is going to end up.

Come on Sid... 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-1-2-1-1-2... it's not the formation, or the players out of position that's the stand out problem... those are legitimate talking points, and we can all have different opinions on them... for me the biggest, most damning question is, what the fuck is happening to our attack???

You can talk about midfield not providing service, and the defence not providing security, but in the end, we've got Falcao, Van Persie, Di Maria, Rooney, Janusaj, Mata, Herrera, and we can't score any fuckin goals against teams we SHOULD be bending over... after Westham scored yesterday, they retreated and let us have the game... next to no threat to our defence, the midfield had as much ball as it wanted, and we couldn't create fuck all...

We are floundering up front... there's no chemistry at all, no apparent group attacking mentality... we don't play counter attacking football, when we play possession based football we suck, when we play 4-4-2 long ball-crossing-Fellaini ball, we suck... we've got some of the best attacking players in the game, but as a unit, they look like a pub team... the passing isn't quick, it isn't one touch, it isn't inventive... it's just blunt tool shite... and that's got to be down to Van Gall...
