Just thought it was worth sharing. This thread doesn't have to be specific to that article as, sadly, racism is still alive and well in the game.

In my experience and opinion I see no racism in the game , both in attending and game and playing the sport I am convinced that any incidents of racism are minute ( wrong as that is ) but only on par with any other anti - social behaviour.
And I have never heard anyone shout across the road the ' N' word ever although I am in no doubt it has been done. This forum almost seems obsessed with the subject, which seems strange.

Bullying in all forms is a much more important agenda in 2018 from the schoolyard to the workplace in social media indeed even in the home in life I see that almost on a weekly basis .

So, pint... Have you not seen those incidents of people throwing bananas or making monkey noises at black players in other leagues. That's "the game" that you're not seeing any racism in. Not really sure why you feel that there must be a level ("minute") where it's evidently so negligible as to not have any effect on those that "minute" amount of racism is directed at.

If you wish to start a thread on bullying, please use the off topic forums or, if it's related to bullying in football, please start one here. This isn't a thread about "bullying" and you'll find that the clue is in the topic title.

I did witness a United fan being racist once. It was at Fulham v United (where Ronaldo scored in the last minute). Some moron had a pop at Papa Bouba Diop using the 'N' word but the stewards did nothing.

I assume that's the sort of "minute" incident that pint suggests racism in the game is limited to... Tell us, sheesh, how did it affect you, as a non-white United fan? It's obviously stuck in your memory and it doesn't sound like you consider it "minute" or trivial.

I bet it's rife for the whole tournament and not just in games featuring the Russian team. I bet, also, that fuck all action is taken despite there being numerous complaints.

tongue in cheek maybe, squeaky bum time always, but in reality i dont give a fuck if some1 monkey humped pogs or simular, seen it heard it all before, dont care. its a PC load of bollax, DOES ANY1 ON HERE ACTUALLY THINK MONKEY CHANTS ARE WORSE THAN WHAT WE DID TO KEVIN KEEGAN AFTER HIS DAD DIED , far more personal insults are hurled every second during a game, its football its the war footing that competition creates, i remember being at villa park in the 80`s and mc grath was getting monkey chants, and exploded, for months after that he got it at every away ground, thats football, the fans will do anything to gain an edge. best thing was villa had 4 players far darker than mc grath on the pitch at the time.

let's just get this clear, Davel. You're condoning racism so long as it gains "an edge" aren't you?
