Looks like all the money is going to fight corona. Good move. Are Madrid doing anything?

Not to be overly cynical of Barcelona, as obviously this is a fantastic gesture, and will generate a load of funds to fight the pandemic, but they are the club who refused to get a sponsor for years, before deciding to let Unicef adorn the strip for a couple of seasons all in good will, before going on to get a normal sponsors like every other club. I think their current deal is in top 3 of the world. i know they still have Unicef on the back of their strip.

I mean, to be fair, they didnt even need to do it first time with Unicef, or this time to raise funds for the pandemic, but part of me is thinking this is a long term way for them to get people used to a sponsored name on the noucamp, and wouldnt be surprised in 5 years if they had another huge commercial deal for the stadium naming rights.

I'm a cynical bastard.

Aren't Barca a corrupt as fuck club who've already been pulled up for tax evasion and fraud. Also they're involved in dodgy transfers.
Perhaps some of their tax dues would have helped fight the virus.
These PR moves aren't even good smokescreens anymore.

9 June doesn't allow a break for the start of the next season, unless they play 2 games a week. Otherwise as they're finishing this season, the next will start (first week of aug)

Not entirely sure it will happen though tbf. Some clubs seem opposed to it cos it's still not really safe. Still too early for some I think.
