It's all about who they sell to - Ed has linked a few interesting threads/links on Twitter on this topic in the past if you're interested (too many to link, sorry).

Be like the club being sold by demons to the devil himself basically

They look like they've been packaged like kids action figures.

How the fuck can we expect our players to concentrate on football when they're being made to push shite like this and that mind set is obviously going to creep into the players actions in trying to market themselves.

If Woodward can sell a new shirt deal, bigger that the current one, with the shit we are putting on the pitch then we really are in deep trouble. The best that can happen for the club would be no offers whatsoever or one so low it actually has an affect on the bottom line.

That's all these leeces will listen to.

You all might be interested in this long article on Ed Woodward, has a lot of interesting tidbits of information. It's from the new subscription site, the Athletic, but someone's posted it on reddit.

I'd heard about that article Bman, but not read it because the Athletic (which is apparently the best football journalism you can read) is behind a paywall. So thanks for posting.

This bit doesn't surprise me

"On this theme there is a suspicion among some agents that Woodward, for all his supposed intentions to appoint a “head of football”, enjoys the glamour of the game too much to ever truly relinquish"

I've always got that impression from him, that he loves the limelight. You see it on the summer tours. I just hope the fact that he's a laughing stock and considered largely to blame for United's fall from grace, that it dents his pride so much he quietly fucks off or at least passes over responsibility to a knowledgeable DoF. He would get a lot of credit for doing so, the credit he probably craves.
