Don't give a fuck if you like it or not, we went to help in the 80's , the loyal people were crying out for protection, it was as given, did what I was paid to do, did my tours and fucked off.

Can't wait for the next rant meet up.

loyal to whom ?
unless the history of northern ireland has changed and we ended up in a parralel universe,
the troops went into northern ireland to protect the catholics/ IRA from the proddys UDA/UDF
so the loyalist (proddys) were doing a bit of ethnic cleansing ,and the troops stopped this.
they then pissed off some seperatist (i dont how they did this) i`m not answer man , but then they turn on the troops. The loyalist never were protected they were kept away.
mcguinness and adams will attempt any way to get unification, so like the poison scotish hobgoblin, this seems like a reason to try again for unification/independance.

Boris is our most likely next PM and he's suggesting :

Free trade + access to the single market
British people will still be able to live/work in the eu
Points based immigration system
Won't be subject to eu laws
Won't be sending money to brussels anymore
he doesn't see a desire for another Scottish referendum

My reason for bringing up Ireland is that i live there, on the border, which my family cross every day, Brexit will be a big problem for us. This was never about rehashing the troubles causes or blame. This is about now.

I've talked to enough police, army, IRA, INLA, PUP, LVF, politicians, victims, kids, English people, Irish people, Catholics, Protestants, Republican, Loyalists and peace protesters over the years of my life i could do it in my sleep. I don't hate any of these people or blame any of them. I just don't want to go back to that shite.

But others do and when it does happen it won't be too long before it won't matter what i say, i'll be judged as not worthy again because of the simplistic attitudes some people take. That's how i grew up and i don't want that for my children or anyone else's. Like it or not the situation over here will affect people in England and someone there will probably be forced to care. I genuinely care for all the people here not just the 'loyal' ones.

Btw if you're leaving there's no need to shout about it, sorry we couldn't provide the entertainment you required, tbf you could have tried to say something interesting while you were here.... Bye!

Boris is simply lying, always has been. The UKIP crowd are thick enough to believe that Brexit will have benefits for Britain, but Boris is just using it to get into number 10 and enrich a relatively small segment of the elite .

Brexit's even worse for the Republic than it is for Britain. Been rightly fucked over by cretinous English nationalism.

What has been really poor is (1) the reaction of Cameron. He has been found out for what he is,a third rate politician. Instead taking sides in the referendum he should have taken a backseat and acted like a true statesman. He would have then been a focal point for a country that is totally split.Half the current problems created by Brexit would be lessened by a strong government. (2) Labour are absolutely pathetic. Not an ounce of socialism in the whole party. The country is in a mess and yet the Labour MPs continue to destabilise in order to further careers. What a bunch of wasters. Time for a National government.

There were good reasons to be unhappy with the EU, but it was never worth leaving
