Boris Johnson wins the first round of leadership votes
He has to become leader because he's the only one that can effectively take Farage's brexit policy away from him, and make him irrelevant, and thus save the tories from being wiped out by UKIP
The problem the hard right wingers have is if they leave without a deal and the shit hits the fan (food shortages etc) that sparks a general election which Corbyn probably wins
Brexit
it really is the stuff of nightmares when Boris becomes the best of a bad bunchSid wrote: ↑1 year agoBoris Johnson wins the first round of leadership votes

Wifebeating Boris Johnson set to become PM. Like i said, it had to happen as a populist hard brexiter is the only one that makes Farage irrelevant.
Problem is if Johnson pulls us out of the EU without a deal parliament will absolutely hold a vote of no confidence in the government, and that will trigger general election. Then you'll probably get a hung parliament which will be shit but mean parliament has the mandate to determine what brexit deal we get, which may or may not be put to the public.
And that might finally end this shit?

Has to be a general election - it was always going to be imho.
From ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties and things that go bump in the night, Good Lord deliver us...and while you're at it, a bit of a helping hand with hobbits wouldn't go amiss...
Problem with a GE is brexit will play out through it. Interestingly though, Farage said he's not adverse to joining the tories, probably because he recognises that the brexit party is splitting the tory party & vote to were a socialist Corbyn government is posssible. He'd obviously rather have right wing neolib tories than socialist labour.
I think for Corbyn to win a GE brexit has to have happened and the focus return to domestic policies were labour kill the tories.

Their brexit shit was only ever about poor car sales and diesels being taken off the roads. Now they're getting with the times and going electric.
