13.4b of NHS debt written off, just like that. Magic fucking wand. Why's it taken a global crisis? Why not position the country's most important institution to be successful and adequately funded, properly run BEFORE there's a fucking health meltdown??
Further proof the magic money tree does exist. Mad really, after Tories and every cunt else went to great lengths to tell labour / socialists we couldn't afford to subsidise bus routes and keep libraries open in Bradford. Turns out there is some money, quite a lot it turns out, enough to subsidise wages, give to the most vulnerable etc.

The truth is coming out now

The coronavirus outbreak took hold earlier in the UK and has claimed dozens more lives than previously thought, new data in England and Scotland has revealed.

Amid growing concern over the shifting picture of the outbreak presented by changes to the daily figures, NHS England said the earliest death occurred on 28 February, almost a week before previously acknowledged.

Health trusts in England disclosed that six people had died in hospitals from Covid-19 as early as February – with the first death previously made public on5 March

It is fascinating, isn't it. Cue another round of austerity when this is all over?
On the EU front, I wonder if the Euro will survive. Also, where is Christine Lagard in all this?

Fuß: I’ve always thought a straight question deserves a straight answer, so yes, I think I totally misjudged how serious this was going to be.
Scandalous really.
No justification but, at the time, the schools were open, football crowds were safe, the government’s advice was limited to ‘wash your hands’, but people were busy panic buying bog roll.
I also have an innate tendency to react sceptically whenever a politician tells me he knows what’s best for me – especially when it’s the same people who brought you Brexit.
What I wasn’t going to engage with was the vitriolic posts.
To those I have unintentionally offended: sorry.

Sid: who the fuck is redit?
Thanks for responding, swampash. There isn't a decent person in the world who wouldn't eventually come round to the right understanding of how things really are so it was only ever a question of when. The whole situation was clouded for a long time by world leaders trying to downplay things in order to avoid panic. How much they shot the world in the foot will be extremely difficult to evaluate so they'll still come out looking like they did everything they could against terrible odds. Take Trump - https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-ca ... as-shifted ... he'll come out of this making sure that his brainwashed minions think he's still the big hero.

I don't think there's anything wrong at all with scepticism but, in a sense, mentioning Brexit actually brings with it a clear analogy. The experts (WHO, etc.) have been warning (for a long, long time) the world what might happen and telling us all that we need to be prepared for a pandemic. They've been ignored. They've also been largely ignored for all the head start time they had when a fucking pandemic actually starts being a very real probability. Wasn't ignoring of experts one of the key reasons cited for why Brexit happened?

For the record, as i stated before, i did feel a few things you said were insensitive but i'd stop short of saying you offended me and no apology was necessary. Equally, if any of my reactions have been over the top, do please bear in mind that i've been watching this catastrophe unfold on my doorstep for longer than any one else here. Most of my anger is aimed at the media and their continued desire to sensationalise and bury the real facts in shit reporting and unfounded opinion, if they bother to report the facts at all. It's given plenty of people, yourself included, a good reason to feel sceptical.

Sadly a global crisis is the only way to illustrate that you can't actually extract more out of the downtrodden (by privatising healthcare, etc) if they're all sick, dying or incapacitated by lockdowns.

When all of this is done, the only thing that should come out of it with a shining reputation are the healthcare systems and the people staffing them. They probably will for a little while and they'll have an obvious wave of public opinion to ride upon. I wonder how long before the politician cunts start raping them again, though... how long will they feel they can safely leave it?

This was always going to be the case though.

I didn't post this before because you seemed a bit anti-maths the other day. Even so, i think this analysis was bang on and shows why the numbers were and always will be bigger than are "known" at any one time:

his follow up article is also spot on:

The Hammer and Dance article is very insightful. It wouldn't appear that football will be making a re-appearance in our lives any time soon. Certainly not with crowds in attendance.

I'm now seeing some people blaming bill gates because he warned us of something of this sort happening 4 years ago. They say he's behind this :))

The 5g thing is complete shite as well. Why would the companies / china behind 5g release a fucking virus that decimates populations in order to achieve supreme financial / state power, when it's going to absolutely decimate their own economy, and global economies, and probably take the whole capitalist system with it

Conspiracy theories just detract from real struggle. Cunts like Alex Jones' absolute shite gets more airtime than legit ideologies like socialism
